The concept and characteristics of non-woven fabrics

Non woven fabric (also known as non-woven fabric) is a new generation of environmentally friendly materials, with characteristics such as water repellency, breathability, flexibility, non combustible, non-toxic and non irritating, and rich colors. If the material is placed outdoors and naturally decomposed, its maximum lifespan is only 90 days. If it is placed indoors and decomposed within 5 years, it is non-toxic, odorless, and has no residual substances when burned, thus not polluting the environment. Therefore, environmental protection comes from this. Suitable for washing and other items. It is a new type of fiber product with soft, breathable, and flat structure, which is directly formed through various fiber mesh forming methods and consolidation techniques using high polymer slicing, short fibers, or long filaments. 1. Lightweight: Made mainly from polypropylene resin, with a specific gravity of only 0.9, which is only three-fifths of cotton. It has fluffiness and a good hand feel. 2. Soft: Made of fine fibers (2-3D), it is formed by light spot hot melt bonding. The finished product has moderate softness and a comfortable feeling. 3. Water absorption and breathability: Polypropylene chips do not absorb water, have zero moisture content, and the finished product has good water absorption performance. It is composed of 100% fibers with porosity and good breathability, making it easy to keep the fabric surface dry and easy to wash. 4. Non toxic and non irritating: The product is produced using FDA compliant food grade raw materials, free of other chemical components, stable in performance, non-toxic, odorless, and non irritating to the skin. 5. Antibacterial and anti chemical agents: Polypropylene is a chemically inert substance that does not cause insect infestation and can isolate bacteria and insects present in the liquid; Antibacterial, alkaline corrosion, and the strength of the finished product is not affected by erosion. 6. Antibacterial properties. The product has water repellency, is not moldy, and can isolate the erosion of bacteria and insects in the liquid, without mold and decay. 7. Good physical properties. Made by directly laying polypropylene spinning into a mesh and hot bonding, the product has better strength than general short fiber products, with no directional strength and similar longitudinal and transverse strength. In terms of environmental protection, the majority of non-woven fabrics currently used are made of polypropylene, while the raw material for plastic bags is polyethylene. Although the two substances have similar names, their chemical structures are vastly different. The chemical molecular structure of polyethylene has strong stability and is extremely difficult to degrade, so plastic bags take 300 years to decompose completely; However, the chemical structure of polypropylene is not strong, and the molecular chains can easily break, which can effectively degrade and enter the next environmental cycle in a non-toxic form. A non-woven shopping bag can be completely decomposed within 90 days. Moreover, non-woven shopping bags can be reused more than 10 times, and the pollution level to the environment after disposal is only 10% of that of plastic bags.

The phosphorus based flame retardant system in polyester not only reduces the heat release rate of the material through solid-phase carbonization and mass retention mechanisms, but also partial gas-phase flame retardant mechanisms. It has good flame retardancy and reduces the release of corrosive or toxic gases and smoke, making it environmentally friendly. Flame retardant materials are currently gaining popularity, especially in North America, Central America, and Europe where flame retardant technology is developing well. In recent times, research and innovation in flame retardants in Asia have also been advancing day by day. California, USA is a popular destination for the development of flame retardant material technology. In 2005, some laws and regulations (such as the very strict mattress regulations) and federal standard 16CFR1633 were completed and passed. In addition, there are regulations such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the California Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), and the European Union on Hazardous Goods Restrictions (POHS). At the same time, these regulations have put forward high requirements and standards for people's safety and health. Thus promoting the research and development of flame retardant properties and flame retardants for textiles.
